Hidden Tricks Inside Windows 10
We’re not really going anywhere right now, and unlike most houseplants, gaming PCs can last you about a decade if you invest time and money. Prebuilt gaming computers are more affordable and more powerful than ever. Samsung offers a variety of laptops in different sizes under the Notebook 5, 7, and 9 lines, and an all-in-one PC known as the All-In-One. Laptops come with wireless built in, and some have a port for connecting an Ethernet cable, although many are ditching it to save space. Borrowing from tablets, companies have begun including touch screens on many laptops.
If you’re working on an important project, you can do this daily to ensure your files are securely stored. Backing up your data saves important files in the event of a hard drive failure or system crash. When you power on your computer and saddle up for your day’s work or some light social media browsing, you want to be able to do so without the stress of clutter. Clear your desktop of any files, folders, or programs you don’t need readily available at every power-on. It’s easy to let your computer’s data organization run awry when your work and play lifestyle doesn’t leave much time for calculated file management.
Your computer generates a lot of temporary files each time you boot up and/or use applications. These temporary files, such as Internet history, cookies, and caches, take up a considerable amount of space on your hard disk, further slowing down your system. A disk cleanup/repair can clean up hundreds of megabytes by deleting temporary files, unnecessary system files, and even just emptying your recycling bin. Defragging is the process of reorganizing the data on your hard drive to speed up file access. While every computer is different, you can usually find Defragment functions under the System and Security tab in the Control Panel.
Before you log out, take a look at the the list of apps linked to your Facebook. Chances are you’ve accumulated quite a few apps since you created your account, some of which you haven’t used in years. Unless you delete them or edit their permissions, apps can continue to gather your data from Facebook.
Even if this flicker is imperceptible, it still can contribute to eye strain and fatigue during computer work. If you have not already done so, replace your old tube-style monitor with a flat-panel LED (light-emitting diode) screen with an anti-reflective surface. Also, if possible, position your computer screen so windows are to the side, instead of in front or behind it. Eye strain often is caused by excessively bright light either from outdoor sunlight coming in through a window or from harsh interior lighting.

An exposed laptop is vulnerable to all of the elements of travel you likely want to protect it from. Windows has several built-in apps that may look useless but offer helpful hidden features. You can then double-click on the shortcut or enter your keyboard shortcut to prompt a pull-down shade to appear. Use your mouse to drag the shade down to the bottom of the screen to turn off your computer. You don’t have to minimize all your open windows just to look at the desktop. There’s a secret button in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar.
For this reason, you should also avoid storing data on your C-drive. In fact, the C-drive should only contain programs as it is activated automatically at each start. Updates can be annoying but they also help to close security gaps and improve the functionality of the software that you are using.
